Our new menu offers everything from traditional quality pub favourites through to fine cuisine. We also offer a range of light bites, sandwiches and hand made desserts. All our food is freshly prepared using the best local ingredients. We also offer a great quality Sunday Carvery offering the best quality locally sourced meat and vegetables.

We source the finest beers and wines and match them with your meal. If its fine traditional ale to match your steak, or a lovely glass of sparkling wine to make your afternoon tea a little bit special then we are happy to help.

The Bay Horse is a traditional coaching inn located in Brandon Village, just three miles from Durham City Centre. The pub is over 300 years old and has guest accommodation in an annex which can be found across the Inn's courtyard. There are ten rooms which are made up of five twins, four doubles and a family room that can sleep four. The main pub building has a lounge, a bar and a restaurant/function room. The menu has received glowing reviews and ranges from pub grub to fine cuisine. All meals are freshly prepared to order by our expert chefs and portions are not for those with a small appetite! Live acoustic music is part of the entertainment programme along with live sport shown on large flat screen TVs. A warm welcome is guaranteed from friendly staff and local customers who frequent the bar. There is always someone on hand to offer advice about the local area, transport and attractions. The pub is very close to the World Heritage site of Durham Cathedral
